Wilbur Rogan, nicknamed Bullet or Bullet Joe, was born July 28, 1889 in Oklahoma City, OK. An outstanding pitcher with a tremendous fastball, a fine curve, and good control, “BulĀ­let” Rogan was a star for the Kansas City Monarchs for almost twenty years.

James Leroy Bottomley, nicknamed “Sunny Jim”, was born April 23, in Oglesby, Illinois and grew up in Nokomis, Illinois. He was noted for his upbeat demeanor and ability to drive in runs. He had over 100 Runs Batted In in each season from 1924 to 1929.

James Alvin “Jim” Palmer was born October 15, 1945 in New York, New York. He was a high-kicking, smooth-throwing hurler of Baltimore’s six championship teams of the 1960s, ’70s and ’80s. Intensity was the trademark of this three-time Cy Young Award winner, who combined intelligence, strength, competitiveness and consistency to become the Orioles’ all-time winningest pitcher.

Adolph Louis Camilli was born April 23, 1907 in San Francisco, California. He combined graceful fielding with long ball power. Although he was only 5′ 10″ and 185 lbs., he was a great first baseman and had a ferocious swing that would swat balls over Ebbets Field’s right field screen onto Bedford Avenue.
